Making our voices be heard

It’s part of our mission: to advocate for public policy, research and funding for ovarian cancer.

We are a partner member of the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA), which is the foremost advocate in Washington DC on policy and funding issues related to ovarian cancer. As a partner member, we join with OCRA each year to lobby our own elected officials who represent us, and others from Oregon and Washington. Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance is the voice for the ovarian cancer community on Capitol Hill. They work with policy makers on the local, state and national levels to ensure the needs of women with ovarian cancer are met.

You can help us make a difference too! Every action counts and helps increase our impact for the ovarian cancer community.

Sign up for our Action Alert mailing list so that you can stay in the loop on what we’re advocating for.

Become a Research Advocate: Research advocates help funding agencies and scientists understand and prioritize the questions that are important to the ovarian cancer community.

Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance is committed to being a voice for ovarian cancer survivors and significantly reducing the number of deaths from this deadly disease by advocating at the federal level for:

  • Adequate and sustained funding for ovarian cancer research and awareness programs.
  • Legislation that improves quality of life and access to care for cancer patients.

Since 1997, when the former Ovarian Cancer National Alliance was founded, death rates from ovarian cancer have changed very little. However, OCRA has worked to increase funding for ovarian cancer research, with the goal that this funding will support breakthroughs to help detect ovarian cancer early, treat it more thoroughly, and allow women with ovarian cancer to survive, and thrive.

We have worked to ensure that necessary treatments are covered by Medicaid and Medicare, that drugs and tests on the market are safe and effective, and that federal policy makers are aware of the importance of issues affecting the ovarian cancer community.

Join us to fight for women with ovarian cancer and policies that help support them and their families.
